How to fit the eezee hinge:
- Bend and flex your eezee hinge several times to form a 90-degree angle with the ribbed face on the inside.
- Place it in the centre of the meter box frame between the two existing hinges. The side marked ‘F’ should be placed on the frame with the other side on the door.
- Using a pencil, mark the drill holes on to both the frame and the door using the hinge as a guide.
- On your drill, set the stop collar depth to 30mm using the hex key provided to tighten it.
- Before drilling, ensure the area around the pencil marks is free from any gas pipes and electrical cables. Then, proceed to drill the holes.
- Affix the eezee hinge to the frame using the wing nuts, bolts and washers provided. Watch the video tutorial to see how it’s done.
- Then, join the door to the box by affixing the hinge to it with the remaining bolts, washers and wing nuts. Wingnuts should be finger tight.
- Finally, close the door and lock using the key provided.
Installing the door latch plate
- Using the door latch plate as a guide, mark the top of the frame with a pencil as shown in the video tutorial.
- With the drill bit provided, carefully create a pilot hole on the frame ensuring only the drill tip pierces the frame and doesn’t go fully through.
- Using the head screw cover, self tapper screw and the door latch plate provided, fix to the frame using a drill as shown.
- Clip the head screw cover into place, and move the door latch horizontally to ensure the correct clearance for opening.
